This man has been a second father to me and I’d like to honor him on this #VeteransDay.
FRANK BLANKENSHIP lied about his age to join the army just prior to WWll. The second picture is of him in Pearl Harbor, at age 16, just before the attack.
Afterward, he went on to serve in the pacific theater in a tank unit.
He later re-enlisted in the air force and served until 1966.
He just turned 97 and can still kick your ass.
This man taught me to throw a baseball, I love him and he is an American hero.
