ジャック・アントノフさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ジャック・アントノフInstagram)「12/25/22 🍅 —— august 18th - realizing how big its going to be to articulate what this album cycle has meant for us as it comes to a close. so im gonna start writing down thoughts early. initial - i wrote this album when i felt i had been coming alive. wrapping all the dark bits into something that you can work with. letting some heaven exist in moments. taking the sadness out of saturday night. left at home, left out, behind in the race, not yourself … whatever it is the idea of saturday night holds a place for those who can win here and there. i became interested in the moments when that didnt seem possible and what keeps us going. when saturday nights are filled with sadness and something still pushes on you. i call it unearned hope. unearned hope hope often comes from a place of having known something better. the idea of unearned hope are those of us chasing something we’ve never known but somehow imagined was ours. something distant and felt. the album came through the lens of a new romance, prosecuting the hell out of my family and a band that somehow starting playing like nothing i even dared to dream of. we got lucky. we caught that post lockdown wave perfectly. booked tours and moved them. shadow of the city moving almost 3 times. then bammmm. first show back was in front of a crowd who had bought those tickets 2 years before when a lockdown felt like something that would break us. there we were, taking care of each other. celebrating again. back with the family. if you’re jewish and from the east coast its almost like a camp friends thing. mythological group of people that you get to show yourself to without the weight of the everyday school friends who demand you be exactly what they think you are. thats kinda what show friends are. we meet back up after long periods of time. we have endless stories. new tattoos and jewelry. things have gotten better or worse but regardless there are serious updates to be shared. you speak to these people you only get to see once in a while and through hearing yourself reconnect you realize something big: you have been living actually. it hasn’t just been dark and strange. theres been some big moments and …..」12月26日 6時14分
