My dear friend @mtilsonthomas was at the @laphil this month, and @madameozell and I had the good fortune of attending both of his programs, including Mahler’s 9th Symphony yesterday. What a staggering work of art…the composition itself, and then the musicians’ performances and finally MTT’s nuanced yet vigorous conducting. How life-affirming to witness masters at the peak of their craft. Here I am backstage with MTT and some of the soloists, still “recovering” from the awesome beauty.
