シャネルのネクサスホールで3/1から始まったキューバの現代アーティスト、マベルポプレットの展示のオープニングにお邪魔しました😊

キューバって自分にとっては未知の国だけど、日本と同じく島国。島国って文化が独自の色に熟成されるのが凄い興味深くて、キューバはいつか早いうちに行きたい場所の一つです🇨🇺

そんなキューバの海がテーマになった彼女の作品は、写真を細かく切って、折り紙の様に畳んだ作品がとても印象的でした。
作家さん自身もとってもかわいらしい方でした🫶🏻
こちらの展示はこの後Kyotographieにも巡回するそうです。

Cuba is a mysterious country to me, but like Japan, it is an island country. The way island cultures form is unique and very interesting, and Cuba is one of the places I would like to visit someday soon🇨🇺

Her work on the theme of the Cuban sea is very beautiful, with photographs cut into small pieces and folded like origami.

This exhibition will also travel to Kyotographie after this exhibition.
