Video by @Tim Laman – guest editor this week for @UNbiodiversity. The lowland rainforest of Borneo, one of the most ancient in the world, harbors an incredible amount of biodiversity, and among the species completely dependent on healthy forest is the Bornean Orangutan. Here you see a mother and young baby traveling through the forest as they do daily to feed on hundreds of different plants to survive.

I work closely with the Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Program (@SaveWildOrangutans), to spread the word about the importance of protecting intact forest like Gunung Palung for the health of our planet, as a reserve of biodiversity, and to give species like orangutans a home where they can pass on their knowledge of how to survive in the forest to the next generation.
