Why is saying goodbye so excruciatingly painful? Our forever Veterinarian just told me, “It’s like having a part of your body taken away,” and that’s exactly what this feels like…  I am still so utterly broken and don’t fully know what to say…but I do know that Evolet would want to be celebrated and would also want us to wipe our tears and forge ahead.  She gave us such a lesson in strength, dignity, loyalty, kindness, joy, curiosity, and pure sass. She was crazy for her squeaky toys, cheese, cozy blankets, little licks of red wine, massages, crunchy cucumbers, eye contact, sunbathing, lazy fireplace naps, coconut water, flower beds, the beach, photo taking, fancy dresses, and light breezes.  She knew exactly when someone needed her company most and never shied away from speaking her mind.  She helped me heal after losing Kiki and continued to help me through extremely difficult moments over the years. She was a gift to everyone she met and an absolute angel on this earth... Saying I’m going to miss her doesn’t even cover it, but I do know that she has now joined Kiki and I luckily have two angels watching over me.  Another dear friend sent me this, “Give it time. And trust and remember that the sharpness of the ache and bottomless and hopelessness of the empty will fade. Not the love.” The love will never fade. Thank you Evolet, for all of it.
