March is a special and emotionally overwhelming month for me. 3.11(Japan's Earthquake and Tsunami), my mother's birthday, my birthday, and my father's death anniversary all come within 10 days while the cherry trees blossoming. Maybe that's why I'm always fascinated by the ephemerality of Sakura, probably more than the flowers' beauty. I find myself intrigued by each petal individually when it's falling or after falling. This painting became one of my most important works for me. I want to share some of my personal memories of Sakura and this piece over several posts.
