New research has shown that all blue-eyed people share a common ancestor, who lived more than 6,000 years ago, or 4,000 BCE (Before Common Era). The Genetic Mutation that caused the mutation is unknown, but it has spread around the globe.
The cause remains undetermined, but the eye color began to change before most histories were recorded.
Researchers searched for the mutation in the OCA2 gene for years, but it was found on an entirely different gene the Herc2. This is the eye of my freind @alexdisuvero.
