He has always had some resource guarding issues and at times aggressive behaviors (some due to anxiety, but also we think just from mis-wiring issues). He has bitten us in the past, once in relation to resource guarding and once from what we think was from him being woken from sleep and spooked. We had him for 3 years and 2 of it with our now 2 y/o daughter. Most days he was amazing with her and would fetch and play. We were able to pick up on Nash’s cues if he seemed to want be left alone or was getting on edge and we could respond appropriately. Our child didn’t see those same cues and we just came worried after having our second child that we couldn’t always be anywhere at once and we didn’t want something to happen that could have been prevented. We thought we’d found a perfect home from him. A retired couple who live on a lake with lots of hiking trails around, who are very active. They had no kids at home and have had dogs before and treat them like kings. Things seemed to align perfectly, but, they have had encounters with his aggression/anxiety. They feel they can’t keep him for fear of having guests over. We had some guests in the 3 years we had him and he would jump in excitement for guests, but we never had any issues. All of this leads us to where we are at now. No rescue place will take him since he has bitten before, and his current owners feel that short of another person stepping forward to take him, the only solution is to put him down. We are on short timeline because they want to move forward with things. We understand that Nash takes work and would do best with someone that has worked with dogs of this nature. We know it’s a big ask, but we are at the point of it being our last hope to save him. He is only 3.5 years old and we can’t fathom having to put him down when we know the love and companionship he has to offer in the right environment. He is currently in Maine. Please reach out to Jennifer @jbock87 if you think you can help. She is happy to go into more details about him as well to explain anything you may want to know."」4月19日 1時48分 - worldoflabs
