Each four-minute video in the series breaks down the major structures in our culture and laws that keep cops in power and unaccountable for egregious and consistent abuses: the dominant narrative in tv shows, movies, and news, the protectors within our criminal legal system like prosecutors and police associations, and the lawsthat shield cops from accountability like qualified immunity. We released the videos in early summer 2022 to our networks, had digital events with peers and organizations like Ben and Jerry’s, Austin Justice Coalition, Josie Duffy Rice, and Jesse Williams, and created a website as an evergreen resource for organizations and individuals to learn more so that we can be better equipped to change these systems, laws, and beliefs.
