With four big windows, a beautiful mantel, three doors, and a radiator, my bedroom has so much old-house-goodness and YET I’ve never felt like the overall decor matched how beautiful the room itself is. I’ve gone through 3 different beds, countless rugs, different nightstands, lamps and overhead light fixtures and it’s just never felt *right*. BUT ALL THAT HAS CHANGED. I partnered with my friends at @west elm and they hooked me up with some really beautiful things and I can truly say I’ve never loved this room more. My old bed (which I do love, but it was just too much old dark victorian-era furniture with the huge eastlake armoire that’s never moving) went into storage, and I took the opportunity to put down this amazing antique wool rug I found for $25(!) a few months ago. Paired with my new super beautiful West Elm Ida Bed, it’s kindaaaa that perfect mix of vintage and modern that I love so much. Then we took things a step further with the fanciest linens ever to grace my flesh, which are the European Flax Linen Duvet Set and Shams (Slate Melange Stripe) and European Flax Linen Sheet Set (Celadon Melange), and I am seriously having the best sleep of my life. THEN we really went for it with the Classic Cotton Velvet Oversized Lumber Pillow in Slate to mix up the tones and textures, and it all just feels very very adult and luxe. A few hours of futzing and it’s like I have a whole new room in my house! I love that West Elm’s products mix and match so beautifully with each other, and with the things I already own and love.
