Handsome Dan XIX (aka Kingman), Olde English Bulldogge (2 y/o), Yale University, New Haven, CT • “Handsome Dan is the first live collegiate mascot in America. He’s the 19th in his line – the first Handsome Dan was circa 1890. He goes to athletic events, formal events on campus, and he’ll have playdates with the students – he loves seeing students on campus. The admissions tours and the visitor center tours come out of our office, so he’ll often be there greeting prospective students, tourists and guests. Every now and then we’ll travel for big events, like the Harvard/Yale game, but he’s especially fond of women’s ice hockey. He’s a rowdy fan. He does a lot for students, staff, and alums.” @handsomedanyale
