I began at the family’s original home, then made my way across the city, stopping and taking photographs at various places that Gies had frequented. Although many of these shops and bookstores no longer exist, it was extremely powerful to follow her path and imagine her days as she ran errands and navigated her life during these perilous times. 1) Actress Bel Powley, who portrays Gies in the series, is photographed by a staircase at the Anne Frank museum in Amsterdam. 2) This building is where Anne and her family lived before they moved into hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands. It was one location filmed during the limited series’ production. 3) Directly across from the building is a park with a memorial statue of Anne Frank. 4) Fresh flowers are placed at the base of the memorial. @asmalllight premieres tonight on National Geographic at 9/8c and on @disneyplus and @hulu tomorrow, May 2.」5月1日 22時29分
