When creating the bespoke look, Creative Director @GabrielaHearst was inspired by the shirt dress Karl Lagerfeld designed for the Chloé Autumn-Winter 1983-84 collection and collaborated with the same master embroiderer, Maison Hurel. Throughout the 1980s, Lagerfeld’s collections put a witty yet glamorous spin on playful themes such as mechanics and plumbing. The strass beaded arrow adornments along the placket and sleeves of this dress for instance echo the directional signs found on motorways.
