The Met Gala's most unlikely star died on the red carpet last night.

No sooner had the insect found fame on the red carpet of Vogue’s annual fashion extravaganza on Monday, than it was dealt a crushing blow. Literally. Video of the roach scuttling around to the delight and horror of onlookers went viral on social media.

“Who are you wearing?” one reporter shouted, per The Associated Press. But the bug was mercilessly stomped and removed from the venue, reported Variety. RIP.
