In this converted Manhattan loft, you're always just one splash away from a good mood. Thanks to a prior gut renovation by the late Paul Fortune and ELLE DECOR A-List firm Gachot Studios (@gachotstudios), many of the apartment’s enhancements were already in place when designer Augusta Hoffman (@augusta.hoffman) and her husband purchased the place. “I loved the juxtaposition of the sort of ‘uptown’ finishes—the moldings, the traditional walnut—stained floors, the marble in the main bath—in the downtown environment,” she says. In the main bathroom, the breccia marble-lined bathroom, paired with an olive-green plaster finish—Highland by Portola Paints & Glazes—and an antique horsehair chair, is a testament to Hoffman’s deft hand with color and command of classical forms.
