These two women are pioneers in the birth community and their documentary “The Business of Being Born” was released 15 years ago. Not only did this documentary have a profound impact on me as a young woman interested in the birth world, but it went on to revolutionize the whole industry- creating ripple effects of growth, awareness and positive change. When I gave birth in 2014 I did so feeling very informed and when my birth plans started to unravel and I had a homebirth transfer, I was able to feel empowered with a clear sense of what my rights were.
