Kinetic steel sculpture entitled “Ali and Nino” (also known as “Man and Woman”), by @TamaraKvesitadze.

This 8 metre (26 feet) tall sculpture drew inspiration from the critically acclaimed novel “Ali and Nino” by Kurban Said, penned in 1937.

The novel centres around the romantic saga of Ali Shervanshir, a Muslim Azerbaijani man, and Nino Kipiani, a Christian Georgian woman. Their love story reaches a tragic end when Ali loses his life in a battle against the Russian Army, fighting for his homeland between 1918-1920.

The captivating statues of the two lovers move gradually towards each other, share a fleeting embrace, only to be separated once more. This moving sequence lasts for 10 minutes.
