クリスティーズさんのインスタグラム写真 - (クリスティーズInstagram)「I recently had the honor of creating original artwork commissioned by Christie's (@christiesinc) for their Ann & Gordon Getty: Temple of Wings auction. Late 19th Century/Early 20th Century textiles and decorative arts were my predominant focus of study during my graduate school years, and they continue to be a great source of inspiration in my work. It was truly a dream come true to have a selection of absolutely incredible items from the Getty home, Temple of Wings, brought to my own home and to be allowed to play with them for a day. Many of the pieces were the kinds of things I'd only seen in museums. I designed my home’s interior in the style of the Aesthetic, Arts & Crafts, and Art Nouveau movements. Temple of Wings shares this same design aesthetic, which made for a seamless integration of its items into my own space. Over the next couple weeks I will be posting some photographs I made using pieces from the auction, along with a little information about my favorite items in each photograph. I hope you all enjoy these works and the little design history lessons that accompany them. For this photo I wanted to evoke themes of nature that guided the design movements of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. I'm wearing a Fortuny robe from 1925 and am reading Flowers from Shakespeare's Garden, written by Walter Crane in 1906. The fabric draped behind me is from a set of curtains designed by William Morris circa 1880. William Morris was the preeminent designer of the mid-late 19th C. His textile and wallpaper designs (and subsequently the designs created by his daughter, May Morris, and his company, Morris & Co.) are still made today, a testament to the enduring quality of his work. The auction runs from May 31 - June 15th. The link is in my bio to browse and bid. #TempleofWings #ArtNouveau #ArtsAndCrafts #ChristiesPartner」5月31日 23時02分 - christiesinc
