Satoshi Kuwata, the founder and designer behind @setchu.official, has won the 2023 LVMH Prize for Young Designers. In the award’s tenth anniversary, Kuwata was presented the award by @ガル・ガドット, alongside a panel of jury members that included @クリスチャンディオール’s Maria Grazia Chiuri, @マーク・ジェイコブス, and @Loewe’s Jonathan Anderson.

The 39-year-old sees his brand as a mix of cultures, where Savile Row tailoring meets Japanese tradition. “I want my company to be one of the maisons. I want to be in that group. And that's my goal,” he told BAZAAR. “I’m thinking of 20 to 30 years from now.”

In addition to a year of mentoring by an LVMH executive, Kuwata will receive 400,000 euros (about $429,000).
