At our Taronga’s Wildlife Hospitals, our team cares for over 1500 native animals every year, with many suffering from plastic ingestion or entanglement. Plastic pollution is a threat to all marine animals including Little penguins, marine turtles, seals, dolphins and whales. So this #PlasticFreeJuly, please consider how you can reduce your plastic use to protect our unique wildlife. One simple way to do that is choosing to reuse. For example, if every Australian used a reusable cup, we would save around 1 billion single-use coffee cups from landfill every year!
