A Boy’s Life on the Front Lines of the Russia-Ukraine War
In a Ukrainian town about four miles from the frontline with Russian, an 11-year-old boy was navigating a childhood transformed by war. He lived in a borrowed one-story home with his mother, Lena; his 23-year-old half sister, Angelina; and their nine cats and four dogs.
@lynseyaddario, a photographer for The New York Times, stayed with Yegor and his family for a week, documenting their attempts to carve out a fleeting sense of normalcy amid the horror of war.
