Of all the greats I watched growing up - Dirk has had the biggest influence on my career. My Dad had the foresight - I can remember him saying “this rookie on Dallas is the future of the NBA.” A 7-footer who could stretch defenses, rebound, post you up and shoot over you, put the ball on the floor when necessary, and dominate the game inside and out. I was on the wrong side of a lot of those buckets. Trail 3’s, free throw line “Dirk spot” finishes, and ofcourse — the iconic fade.

Being a big that can shoot has allowed me to change and adapt in a game that has become reliant on not only pace, but the space needed to operate in todays current NBA. Dirk changed a lot of peoples idea of the modern big man. I wouldn’t be headed into year 16 if not for Dirk’s influence and helping take the game to where it is today. My deepest gratitude to a legend that will live on forever!
