The Victoria crowned pigeon is a magnificent bluish-grey bird with exquisite blue lace-like crests, a maroon breast, and captivating red eyes. It belongs to the Goura genus, which consists of just four unique, incredibly large, ground-dwelling pigeons native to the New Guinea region. Easily recognizable by the distinctive white tips on its crests and its deep ‘whooping’ calls, this pigeon is a true marvel of nature.
