Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

On this anniversary, we reflect on composer Arvo Pärt and architectural firm Snøhetta's tribute, 'To a Great City,' located at 7 World Trade Center, which was a part of our 2011 'stillspotting nyc' project.

Visitors had the opportunity to experience the harmonious blend of music and architecture at five distinct locations in Lower Manhattan, quietly celebrating the resilience of the city a decade after the September 11 attacks.

Journeying through the stillspots around the periphery of Ground Zero, participants encountered a serene green labyrinth created by the Battery Conservancy, reflected in an underground chamber at Governors Island National Monument, and gained access to otherwise restricted spaces within landmark skyscrapers.

The stillness and seclusion of these spaces heightened awareness and re-calibrated the senses, allowing listeners to become increasingly attuned as they were drawn in, ultimately transforming into a focused and tranquil state.
