I originally became a @シカゴ・カブス fan as a child in 1998, during the home run race. When that period passed, my fandom was sustained by learning about the great history the Cubs have, which includes contributions from baseball hall of famer Ernie Banks, a former Negro League star, who was the Cubs’ first Black player and the first Cub to have their jersey retired. He was also the first Black person to manage a game in the Majors when he did so in 1973. ✊🏾
