Leviathan Lake is stunningly blue, crystal-clear alpine lake, surrounded by the incredible Leviathan and Vallecito Peaks. The hike to this lake is typically long and difficult to get to, but it got even more difficult when we realized 1/3 of the trail hadn’t been maintained for years, which required several miles of uphill and downhill bushwacking. But seeing this lake in person was truly incredible and worth every bit of effort to get there. Being able to capture it all with the Canon EOS R8 made it even more memorable. This camera is Canon’s smallest, lightest full-frame mirrorless camera ever, but still captures amazing images, making it a perfect companion for backpacking and outdoor adventures where size, weight, and portability is important. This backpacking trip was the true definition of adventure. It was filled with plenty of challenges and moments that pushed me.
