Afterwards, was hosted to lunch by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Deputy Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh @maktoum_mrm. Also had the pleasure of meeting with Singaporeans residing in the UAE for a very belated National Day celebration. Glad to see that they are doing well! In Abu Dhabi, I visited the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and learnt about the UAE’s energy transition plans. Later that day I laid a wreath at Wahat Al Karama to pay tribute to fallen Emirati soldiers before meeting President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi His Highness Sheikh @mohamedbinzayed at Qasr Al Watan, the beautiful presidential palace. Also had tea with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and invited him to visit Singapore soon. Glad to have experienced the warm hospitality of our Emirati hosts and to have advanced joint efforts between Singapore and the UAE in key areas such as the green economy, climate change and AI through the exchange of MOUs and agreements.
