アリシア・ウィットさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アリシア・ウィットInstagram)「dear ones… i’ve missed you! it’s been a fantastic journey, one which i can’t wait to share with you. grateful to be back with you after this break! on this, the 103rd day of our @sagaftra actors’ strike, we have been invited back to the negotiating table at last. the fraction of the shares that we have been asking for (2% *or less* - for all actors involved in a project - of the total that a big streamer will receive for content that earns them hundreds of millions of dollars) means the difference between working actors making a living for creating the entertainment you enjoy - or not. we have made residuals since 1980, but the model has changed, and the contract needs to also change. as one of the tiny percentage of actors who is blessed beyond measure to be able to get a film made - a ‘name’ - someone who on a nearly daily basis hears ‘i just saw you in ___ on ___’ - i would have lost my health insurance last year had i not taken a tiny job (so dicey that they still haven’t paid me). fortunately i was hired for one episode of a TV series on a network and made my quota. because i chose to take 2021 off from acting work - with 100+ major acting credits - i still would not have earned enough in residuals to keep my insurance. that number is $26,000. remember that the vast majority of the actors you watch in the entertainment you love are not even in this blessed position. some are starring in a series that became a runaway hit - but they are still scraping by to make ends meet because they were only paid the day rate - $500 a day. with nothing extra when the show earns hundreds of millions for the streamer it airs on. that is wrong. we also have a very real and very threatening AI issue. if an AI character is created using our likeness - *which they are asking to do* - whether we are a ‘name’ actor with a lifetime legacy of performances to pull from, or a background player showing up for one day’s work and being asked to have our likeness scanned to clone it for the rest of the production - this must also be addressed. this is why we have been striking. we are in need of fairness and of making a working living. let’s go, #sagaftra! #sagaftrastrong 🙏✨」10月25日 0時24分
