Brilliant photographers such as Lyn Goldsmith, Dennis Morris , Pennie Smith , Jill Furmanovsky, Kevin Cummins, Mick Rock , Anton Corbin , Baron Wolman , Shiela Rock ( to name just a few ) crystallised an image of Rock and Roll at at time when there was not a single camera in the audience . In many ways they created the image of Rock and Roll as much as the amazing performers that were their subjects. On this weeks episode of ‘100 Photographers ‘ I wanted to look at one of the very best of these photographers , the wonderful Bob Gruen , and his incredible picture of iconoclastic Sid Vicious which is so full of pathos , poetry and an almost tragic beauty.
