JUST IN: An Israeli aircraft has hit an ambulance in Gaza that the Israel Defense Forces say was being used by Hamas terrorists.

"A number of Hamas terrorist operatives were killed in the strike," the IDF said. "We have information which demonstrates that Hamas' method of operation is to transfer terror operatives and weapons in ambulances."

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said the ambulance was among a group of ambulances that were returning from a mission to transport injured people to the Gaza-Egypt Rafah border crossing.
