Why were there no images of birth?

This question inspired artist @judy.chicago to launch "The Birth Project" (1980-85), on view now in the exhibition "Judy Chicago: Herstory."

Forty years later, "Birth: A Convening on Art and Human Reproduction" revisits this critical area of research and artmaking through a contemporary lens.

On Thursday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m., join artist and writer @carmen.winant, professor @danaaindavis, artist @ani.liu.studio, as well as artist and @thankgodforabortion activist @chocolatinaruiz to explore what is at stake in the representation of birth today.
