Join us for a night of live music and history as we celebrate how the iconic Hopetoun Hotel a.k.a the Hoey in Surry Hills nurtured musicians and incubated business owners, promoters and label heads. 
 
Learn more about the history of the Hoey with Susie Beauchamp and see never-before-seen photos, interviews and augmented reality of the rich music scene in Sydney during the 1980–2000s.  
 
Listen to live acoustic sets from iOTA, Christa Hughes, Adam Gibson and Alannah Russack. Drinks available from Grifter. 
 
This night is curated by Powerhouse Research Fellows and UTS academics Dr Gregory Ferris and Dr Liz Giuffre and is an unauthorised biography and love letter to the iconic Sydney live music venue and the ecosystem it was part of.
