For over two decades, Colin Davidson’s large-scale works have been informed by the subjects of cityscapes, urban windows, and grand, strikingly powerful portraits of sitters as diverse as Ed Sheeran and Seamus Heaney to The Late Queen Elizabeth II and President Bill Clinton.
Now on view at #SothebysLondon, ‘Window Self-Portraits’ sees Davidson, one of Northern Ireland’s leading contemporary painters, return to urban windows in his first solo exhibition in five years. “Maybe, looking at windows and at cities, I became aware of this stage persona as a façade,” says the artist.
