Since 2018, 4700 children from under-served school communities in Edmonton have been able to embrace the joy of skating thanks to the CanSkate@School program run by @skateab_nwt_nun and partners.

The program's sole purpose is to provide children who come from inner city and under-served school communities with an opportunity to learn to skate. Participants don’t even need to bring their own helmets or skates – as equipment is often a key barrier to entry, all the equipment required is housed at the arena waiting for them.

PatinagePlus@l’école a comme but unique d'offrir aux enfants provenant du centre-ville et des communautés scolaires mal desservies, une occasion d'apprendre à patiner. Les participants n'ont même pas besoin d'apporter leurs propres casques ou patins – comme l'équipement est souvent un obstacle crucial à l'initiation au patinage, tout le nécessaire se trouve à l'aréna pour eux.
