Daniel Hagari, said Israel “continues to expand its ground operation against main Hamas fronts in the Gaza Strip.” Military officials declined to comment on whether Admiral Hagari’s comments meant an Israeli ground invasion of the south had begun.  Many people under evacuation orders had already been displaced at least once before, forced to leave northern Gaza when the fighting and the airstrikes began.
