韩国阴历的八月十五称为“秋夕”，也就是中国的中秋节。秋夕可以说是韩国人一年中最重要的传统节日，是一个丰收和感恩的节日，甚至比春节（阴历新年）更隆重。
从农历八月十四日开始全国上下就要接连放假3天，庆祝佳节。韩国“秋夕节”最重要的是全家人要团聚到爷爷奶奶家，首先是祭拜祖先，然后全家人一起赏月。韩国中秋节也有独特的中秋食物——松餅。松餅形如半月，用米粉制成，内馅是豆沙、枣泥等，因蒸时垫有松毛而得名，中秋时家家蒸食并互相馈送。
