Through #augmentedreality, you can now use your Instagram app to see eight of our free collection artworks come to life in the gallery, from the glowing and fading lanterns in Sargent's 'Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose' to Gwen John standing before her self-portrait, and even a cat emerging from a JMW Turner painting 🐈
Discover the works through a new lens now at Tate Britain. #TateAR

Great to have art work come to life with AR. The National Gallery of Denmark did simular back in 2012 with a Hammershoi painting:-) Great fun - bit difficult to do. I am sure the tech behind is much better now. Can’ t wait to try it out next time I will pay a visit👏

It was such a challenge for me to find them lol, but it did worth it! That's an amazing work which brings classic art to a different level - very creative, interactive and mind-blowing

This troubles me. I’d love to know how the artists would react to this #augmentedreality they didn’t intend their work to be viewed in this way. It’s a loss of purity.

Watendlath farm is where the series of Rogue Herries was written about - I love the place and its history. Fabulous place to visit.
