Somehow I almost forgot it was a black and white movie from 1946. It was just so beautiful and lively that it feels like it was in colour. I learnt more about black and white when I first watched Psycho by Hitchcock and M by Fritz Lang. They taught me through their eyes in cinema about creating a dimension with lights and shadows.
