It took three full years for me to realize that living with one foot out the door in our current home was stealing some of our joy. We were living in a big blank neutral canvas because the thought of eventually un-styling it one day to sell it, felt overwhelming. Sydney’s room is the ONLY room that got any love when we moved in, but that chevron wall treatment (see stories) in our family room made us love our space so much more. So now, slowly but surely, we’re making this house a space that we enjoy living in. Painting a couple of walls ‘carbonized’ may not be the most “sellable” choice, but we’ve decided to design for living here instead of not living here. And it’s definitely sparking joy. For us anyway 🖤
