Growing up in Brooklyn and Queens respectively in the 90’s, there wasn’t a more important and iconic symbol of NYC hip hop style than the Timberland Boot. Whatever trend the classic construction boot created in the street it owed it’s fashion lore to what was happening inside the booth. From @wutangclan to Biggie, Timbs were the shoe de rigueur for every hardcore NY artist whilst recording their most compelling music. Brooklyn’s biggest Timberland Tree endorsers, Boot Camp Clik even named their entire rap collective after the Massachusetts outdoor footwear company. Born and bred on NYC Hip Hop, we understand that there are no construction Timbs without @nas . No Beef and Broccoli’s without @realsmifnwessun . So when it came time to design our very own Timberland Boot we knew that we needed to tap into the raw aggression of some of our favorite NYC hip hop records ever recorded. Over the course of the next week we’ll be releasing images from our collaboration with Timberland paired alongside our personal list of favorite stomp-you-out-in-the-middle-of-the-Tunnel songs that inspired our design, reviewed by us and our friends.
