#WorkoftheWeek is Ibrahim El-Salahi's Reborn Sounds of Childhood Dreams I 1961–5 💭
As one of the founders of the Khartoum School, El-Salahi developed a new visual vocabulary comprising simple forms, strong lines and sombre colours inspired by his environment and rooted in Arabic and African forms and iconography. In this work he looks to capture the fleeting moments when memory and dreams, past and present, collide.
