The first sketch is of a man taking part in a protest this month, followed by a sketch that combines a 1964 text by Malcolm X, an African mask, and the phrase SEE THE SIN. Finally, images that were taken during the African independence movements in the 1950s appear in the last sketch. History is fragmented, often violently poetic. It endures through social upheavals, and, stubbornly, through cries for change."
