Today marks the 25th anniversary of the genocide of more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys in the town of Srebrenica. As part of the UN Protection Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1992-95, the Royal Netherlands Army were responsible for protecting the Srebrenica safe area.  ​ ​This artwork is a black and white self-portrait with graffiti written by an unknown Dutch soldier in 1994/5 superimposed over her image. The work was first displayed in the public space of Sarajevo in 2003 on the eighth anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre.
