It’s moments like these that I will cherish forever. What people see is a snapshot of a man and a lioness which will provoke all sorts of thoughts and emotions. What I see is a friend and a relationship which has spanned well over a decade (in this case), filled with laughter, joy, struggles, sadness, ups and downs just like any relationships in life. No relationship stays constant, they are forever evolving and need continuous positive inputs from both sides for them to work and thrive. It’s not rocket science. It just takes time and effort. Thankfully most people are smart enough to realise that a man sitting, playing with an adult lioness must have some deeper connection which was built over time through commitment and perseverance and was not as a result of him buying a ticket to some commercial park, which bought him some perceived right to invade that animals space, pet it and take a selfie, which is the norm for the cub petting, lion walking industry.
