When the Class of 2020 graduated earlier this summer, the future had never looked so uncertain. “My heart went out to these graduates who had no chance to celebrate after 4 years of hard work," says @alexwhiteedits. So for ELLE's September issue, we invited recent college photography grads from around the country to put their personal spin on a fall fashion shoot. For @rotten_avocado from @FITnyc it was a chance to ponder the sea: "As an immigrant and a dual-cultured artist, I aim to tell diverse stories,” Ouyang says. “I chose to shoot with an Asian model at a location that carried my fantasy of the American landscape: on a sunset-bathed Coney Island beach, a figure that is defined by the hyperbolic design in an empty seashore.
