On top of being a top notch stunt coordinator, Merritt was one of the most kind, most patient, most encouraging, most collaborative, hardest working people I’ve ever had the privilege to create with. But even beyond that, he was such a good man, with such a good heart. He genuinely cared about everyone on the show. He protected all of us actors and stunt actors like we were his own children. No matter how many crazy or precarious situations that show had me in, and there were many, I never felt unsafe. Not ever. Because I knew Merritt would never put me in danger. I knew he would always put our safety first. In truth, I saw him as a true role model. A man, with strong, confident, male energy, that walked softly, and without ego. He had nothing to prove. He only wanted to do great work, and make sure everyone was safe while we did it. He was a family man. He loved his wife. He loved his kids. He loved his life. I guess that’s what makes his passing all that much more difficult to process. It just doesn’t make sense. Not in any way, shape, or form. The world needed more Merritt. I needed more Merritt. Hold your loved ones tight. And if you can’t do that right now, call them. Life is so fragile. We know this, and yet we forget all too often. And unfortunately, sometimes it takes something as nefarious as cancer to remind us. And if you’re the praying type, send some in the direction of Merritt’s friends and family, won’t ya? I’d sure appreciate it, and I bet they would too. 🙏」9月17日 9時13分 - zacharylevi
