As part of @British Vogue’s feature on The Prince of Wales and sustainable fashion, photographer @ニック・ナイト has captured some of HRH’s classic pieces.
The Prince’s oxblood brogues were made in the late 1980s by New & Lingwood, using Russian leather salvaged from a 200-year-old shipwreck in the Plymouth Sound. The skins, discovered buried in mud, had been traditionally tanned with willow bark and birch oil. Today the shoes are maintained by Bootmaker John Lobb.
The Prince’s linen jacket, which HRH wore for the British Vogue portrait was made in 1990 by @andersonandsheppard, and his shirt by @ターンブル&アッサー. The shirt HRH is wearing has been re-collared recently, and the collar lasts around eight to nine years.
