Usually competing first was very difficult for me, I always needed more and more time to get absolutely ready to compete, but not on that day 🤷🏼‍♀️ I remember standing calmly and waiting until all the judges are called and everything is settled for the competition to start. Everything seemed so calm for me, like a usual training 😬 It was my second year as a senior and I was sure that I wasn’t even close to being a contender for a medal, I just wanted to show my gymnastics and what I am capable of... so I went there and did my routine quite well) As usual during the finals, after completing my hoop routine I went to change the leotard and started preparing for my ball. When the hoop final finished, the competition host announced the three medalists, but as it was in Hungarian, I hardly noticed that my name was pronounced and continued my preparation for the next final. It was only then, when I realised some hidden smiles and whispers among my coaches. They didn’t say anything to me until the last apparatus, it always worked like that! They didn’t want to interfere into my concentration I guess:) Of course I was happy to find out that a 15 year old me, became a Winner of a World Cup finals winning over super gymnasts from the strongest RG countries in the World.
