Growing up in Alaska, Stan Evans parlayed his love of the outdoors to photography, becoming the first Black wintersports photographer. Riding on both sides of the story, he brings a much-needed point of view to the snowsports world and continues to raise a flag for inclusivity within the community. In October 2020, Stan penned an Op-Ed for @snowboardermag that spurred rich dialogue around equity in the snowboarding world. He was recently elected to the @siasnowsports Board of Directors. When he’s not snapping shots of celebrities or action in the snow, Stan hosts his own podcast @socialstudiesshow which explores the lines between advertising and activism.
